Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOAN ROSAMOND ROUTLEDGE, B.A. (nee MIX) September 18, 1920 November 25, 2009 Died peacefully on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 in Kingston General Hospital. Joan was a teacher, master teacher of mathematics and consultant in York Region and authored many mathematics textbooks for grades K-8. Her outstanding contributions to elementary mathematics education resulted in her receiving the Descartes Medal from University of Waterloo in 1974. Joan proudly obtained a B.A. from Queens University after many years of taking courses during summers and by correspondence all while teaching full-time and raising a family of three children with her husband Herbert Errington Routledge (1911 - 2007). Joan is survived by three children, Doug (Sue) Kingston, ON, Rick (Louise) Port Coquitlam, BC, and Pat (Will) Winnipeg, MB; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
